Green Slime Punch
Perfect for Halloween, this tasty punch will certainly get the ghouls howling at the moon!
Items Needed:
- ½ gal. lime sherbet
- 2 bottles (750 ml. each) sparkling wine, chilled
- 1 cup lemon-flavored vodka
- 1 cup green Crème de Menthe liqueur
- Dry ice, as needed (use large chunks so it won't be swallowed accidentally)
Directions:
Place the half-gallon block of lime sherbet in a large punch bowl and cut into quarters; as it melts, it will form a foamy "slime" on top. Pour in the sparkling wine, vodka and Crème de Menthe; stir to blend. Using tongs (do not handle the dry ice with hands), add the dry ice chunks as needed to create vapors exuding from the punch. Makes 1 gallon.

Mojito Cocktail
The refreshing Cuban Mojito offers a Caribbean twist to Kentucky's Mint Julep. This is my own version of the traditional cocktail using fresh coconut water and Rose's sweetened lime juice.
Items Needed:
- 4 fresh mint leaves
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 oz. fresh coconut water (or canned unsweetened coconut milk thinned equally with water)
- ½ oz. (1 Tbsp.) Rose's sweetened lime juice
- 1 ½ oz. light rum
- Crushed ice
- Club soda to taste
- Lime wedge and sugarcane stick for garnish
Directions:
Mull the mint leaves and sugar in the bottom of a cocktail shaker with a spoon. Add the coconut water, Rose's lime juice and rum and shake vigorously. Fill a tall rocks glass with crushed ice and pour the cocktail over the ice. Add the club soda to taste and stir with the sugarcane stick; garnish with lime wedge.
Caipirinha (Makes 2 cocktails)
Items Needed:
- 1 large lime, cut into cubes (with the peel)
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 jiggers (3 oz.) Brazilian Cachaça cane spirits (Pitú brand or comparable aguardiente)
Directions:
Divide the lime cubes and sugar evenly into two "old-fashioned" glasses. Mull the lime cubes with the sugar with a wooden pestle, fill the glasses with cracked ice and pour a jigger of Cachaça in each.
